Food and Nutritional Security

We believe that everyone has a right to a sustainable livelihood. Our Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) program is focused on not only contributing to long-term, sustainable food and Nutritional security in the region but also embracing the essential dynamics that affect these systems.
We are dedicated to enhancing food, income, and Nutritional security and resilience among the very poor and marginalised communities in Uganda by 2030.
This ambitious goal will be achieved through several strategic approaches: our work is focused on
Food production systems (crops and Livestock) strengthening to ensure that these communities have reliable access to nutritious food;
Improving Market systems to create more efficient trading avenues and opportunities for local farmers; and
Food System Advocacy that promotes policies and practices benefiting disadvantaged populations, ensuring they are heard and supported in their quests for better living conditions.
Our FNS program aims to improve productivity, quality, and value creation for disadvantaged women and men to enhance food and nutrition. This initiative is intended to generate opportunities for these groups, equipping them with the skills and tools they need to succeed in a competitive market landscape.
Facilitate access to markets for poor and marginalised communities , empowering them to engage more effectively with both local and regional economies. Our goal is to offer resources and training that will assist these individuals in not only accessing current markets but also expanding their networks and establishing sustainable business methods.
Food system advocacy :
Expanding Access to Financial Resources for Diversified Livelihoods
WSF is dedicated to broadening access to financial resources for women, men, youth, indigenous peoples, and underrepresented groups in the intervention areas by enhancing the knowledge base surrounding financial management. This initiative seeks not only to offer vital financial tools but also to empower these communities through educational programs, workshops, and resources customized to improve their understanding and management of financial issues. By cultivating a culture of financial literacy, WSF hopes to promote sustainable economic growth and stability, allowing individuals and groups to make informed financial choices that positively influence their lives and their communities.
We advocate for a food system that fosters an environment where the rights of marginalized and underprivileged individuals are respected. This objective will be achieved by advancing policies and practices that assist these groups, ensuring their voices are amplified and they receive the necessary support to enhance their living conditions.
